The destination

Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam — coastal calm, city close.

A peninsula of beaches and open sky just across the harbour from Tanzania's largest city.

Why Kigamboni

Close to everything. Far from the noise.

Kigamboni sits on the southern side of Dar es Salaam's harbour, linked to the city by bridge and ferry.

It offers what a leadership retreat needs: quiet beaches, ocean air and room to breathe, within easy reach of the international airport, the city's business district and onward travel to Zanzibar and Tanzania's national parks.

For our founders, it's also home ground. The Iamwomanpreneur team has run events in Dar es Salaam since 2018 — at the National Museum and House of Culture — and works with local chambers, women's networks and tourism partners.

Getting here

Easy to reach from around the world.

By air

Fly into Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR), Dar es Salaam, with connections across Africa, Europe, the Middle East and beyond. We'll help arrange transfers for retreat and event guests.

By bridge or ferry

Kigamboni is connected to central Dar es Salaam by the Nyerere Bridge and the Magogoni ferry across the harbour.

Onward travel

Extend your stay with Zanzibar's beaches and Stone Town, or Tanzania's world-famous safari parks.

Sea-view protection

A view that stays.

Alongside the main site, a beach-adjacent plot is part of the Phase 1 plan.

  • Protects the Landmark's permanent sea view
  • Prevents future development blocking the view
  • Becomes an outdoor retreat garden and wellness / yoga deck
  • Creates a pathway to the beach

Bridging nations

A link between Tanzania and the world.

Our founder was the first ever Miss Tanzania UK and has spent two decades connecting the diaspora with opportunities at home.

Tanzania

Partnerships with business chambers, women's networks and the Tanzania Tourist Board — and a local operations team in Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Zanzibar.

United Kingdom

A UK community of clients and partners, and a 2015 Birmingham convention that drew 300+ delegates and the Tanzania High Commission.

The world

A network of up to 3,000 women across the globe, ready to make Kigamboni their leadership home.
